摘要
“模糊限制语”(hedge)这个概念最早属于逻辑学和语义学的研究范畴,于20世纪70年代由George Lakoff提出。随后30年时间里,不同学者以不同的视角对模糊限制语进行了多维度的分析,研究涉及语用、语篇、语体、交际策略、文化差异等多个领域,模糊限制语的研究也一度成为语言学研究的一个热点。本文从模糊限制语研究的渊源入手,对不同的研究视角和研究方法进行梳理、评析,进而讨论模糊限制语进一步研究的发展方向。
The concept of 'hedge',put forward by George Lakoff in 1972,used to be a main object of study in logic and semantics.In the following 30 years however,various approaches were adopted in studying hedges,including the perspective of pragmatics,discourse analysis,stylistics,communication strategies,cultural differences,and so forth.The study of hedges,consequently,becomes a very important issue in linguistic studies.Starting from the origin of hedges,this article gives a comprehensive introduction of the different perspectives and offers comments on their respective strengths and weaknesses,and finally discusses the further direction of the study of hedges.
