摘要
本文试图通过一个词汇附带习得实验来检验上下文分析和构词分析对于猜测生词词意的作用。结果显示上下文分析在最佳推测条件满足的情形下可以独立有效地发挥作用,而构词分析和上下文分析的结合在一般情况下对于受试者的判断存在显著意义的影响。
The present study aims to test the effect of morphological analysis on ESL students’ interpretation of unknown words through an incidental learning experiment. Contextual clues alone were shown to be adequately helpful for inferring the meaning of unknown words when conditions for optimal inference were satisfied. The combination of contextual analysis and morphological analysis was found to have a significant effect on the subjects’ interpretation in most cases.
