Through the discussion on the relationship between community physical education and com-munity culture,this article extracts the concept of residential block physical education from that of community physical education.It specifically brings forward that community physical education has been shrinking to residential block physical education.The article also reveals the functions of residential block physical educa-tion in community cultural construction.It speeds up the process of physical education socialization;advances community cultural construction;satisfies the psychological demands of the community residents and strength-ens community members’ cohesion and sense of belonging.
