应用型大学主要是由地方新办本科院校、民办本科院校提出的高等教育机构新类型,反映了这些举办本科教育时间短、办学条件局限较大的高校对学校定位和未来发展的探索。然而这一提法在概念的内涵、办学的理念以及人才培养模式上都有一系列值得深入探讨的问题。

The application-oriented college is a concept brought forward by the new undergraduate col-leges and private colleges. This reflects the efforts of these colleges to define their position and to find the direction of development with the limitations of various conditions and resources. However, there are many questions need to ask about the definition, notions and education methodologies of this new type of higher educational institutions.
