This paper posits and analyzes two characteristic scenarios,in-dicative of the major problems in preparation and implementation of leading-in activities,as part of the classroom teaching of English lan-guage at the senior high school level.Set against the background of current curriculum reform,the article goes on to advance practi-cal proposals for counteracting the respective problems,for the pur-pose of optimizing the effective-ness and productivity of leading-in exercises.
