摘要
本研究采用前、后测的方法考查词汇频率对中国大学生二语词汇偶然习得的作用。受试者是同一所大学的84名学生,分别代表三个语言水平。在阅读一篇文章之后,测量受试者对目标词的习得情况。将习得最好与最差的词汇的频率进行比较。结果显示,词汇频率与受试的语言水平就词汇的理解性习得而言,不相关;而就产出性习得而言却相关。
This study investigates how word frequency affects Chinese EFL learners'incidental ac- quisition of English words while reading.Eighty-four Chinese college students representing three proficiency levels were tested on their receptive and productive acquisition of 20 tar- get words by performing a reading task and then taking posttests.The major finding is frequency has no relationship with the participants'receptive learning,whereas it correlates with their productive learning.
