摘要
弗吉尼亚·伍尔夫是英国文坛上著名的意识流作家之一,为意识流小说的发展作出了重要的贡献。前景化是指通过对标准常规的系统违反来达到独特艺术效果,从而把作者想要表达的思想提到前景位置以引人注目的表现手法。意识流小说往往描写人物混乱流动的意识,因此在语篇上常常表现为词汇组合、句法结构、语篇结构、叙述模式等多层面上偏离常规的前景化特征。本文拟从前景化的角度分析《丘园记事》这部无论从思想上还是艺术上都体现出传统小说向现代小说过渡的特征的小说中人物的对话与主题的关系。
With her great contribution to stream of consciousness novels,Virginia Woolf is granted one of the most famous writers in British Literature. Foregrounding refers to one of the writ-ing styles which strays away from conventions so as to achieve peculiar artistic effects and foreground the theme the writer wants to express. Novels in style of stream of conscious-ness tends to depict people’s flowing an disordered consciousness,and therefore mani-fest the discourse characteristic of straying away in the aspects of lexis,syntax,discourse structure,patterns of narration and etc. This essay is to ,from foregrounding point of view,analyze the depiction of dialogues and their relation to the theme of the novel Kew Garden,a novel embodies the transition from tradition style to the modern one in both thoughts and arts.
