The Wang＇s family of Ningbo in the Yuan Dynasty experienced the shift from the seclusion of Wang Yinglin and WangChangshi, to Wang Ningsun＇s attempt to enter into the officialdom and Wang Housun＇s entry into the society. The history of the Wang＇s three generations is the miniature of the personages of Ningbo in the Yuan Dynasty. A probe into the Wangs＇ family can offer a glimpse of a transition process from exclusion from government to cooperation of the smoothers.
