摘要
《在西方的眼睛下》是康拉德的一部背景设在俄国的小说。本文试图从主人公的生存状态的角度解读此作品。主人公哈祖莫夫的一生是孤独的,他以为自己有选择人生道路的自由意志从而享有独立人格,但是事实是他的选择使得他的人生充满了悖论和荒谬感。他的处境更加孤立,而他也必须经受背叛带来的种种惩罚。
Under Western Eyes is one of Conrad' s novels with its background set in Russia. This paper tries to read this novel from the protagonist' s condition of existence. Razumov the protagonist is a university student and he lives alone and is isolated. He believed he had the freedom to choose the life he preferred. But life is a paradox. His existence became an absurd and unbearable torture. He grew more isolated because of his choice at the critical moment. Punishment follows with his choice of betrayal.
