He made unremitting probe into the construction of the Party's advancement both during the revolutionary war and in the course of socialist construction. In Chinese Soviet Area, he focused on the ideological construction, laying the foundation for the construction of the Party's advancement; in Yan-an, on the construction of the Party conduct, study style and work style, finding new methods to settle the contradictions in the Party; after liberation, on preventing corrupt and developing economy, solving the problems of governing for whom and how to govern.
