变异现象存在于一切文学之中,比较文学变异学是基于对我国比较文学学科发展、尤其是学术前沿的一些困惑和问题的思考而提出的。其价值主要在于:1)促进国际文学关系史的研究。2)有助于理清比较文学学科体系和完善教材板块。3)比较文学变异学倡导跨文明研究,将可比性定义在异质性和差异性上,是对传统的以“同”为基础的比较文学可比性的澄清和拓展。比较文学变异学的主要研究方法有语言层面的变异研究,接受层面的变异研究和形象层面的变异研究。

Variations as a phenomenon exist in all literatures. Variations Studies in Comparative Literature, with variations in comparative literature as its object of studies, is advanced on the basis of deliberate considerations of the perplexities and issues arising out of the study and development of comparative literature as a discipline in China. Its values lie mainly in 1) that it helps promote the studies of relationships of literatures in the world; 2) that it helps put in order the disciplinary system of comparative literature and improve the structure of the textbooks in this field; and 3) that it clarifies and enriches the scope of comparability in comparative literature studies by advocating comparison of heterogeneity and otherness abased on cross - civilization studies, a complement of the traditional focus on the comparison of identity. Major research methods of Variations studies in comparative literature include studies of variations in language, in reception and in images.
