摘要
学习动机不仅在一般学习活动而且在外语学习活动中发挥着非常重要的作用。本文采用历史的方法考察了外语/二语学习/习得理论并运用普通语言学、实用语言学和心理学的有关原理对外语学习动机进行剖析后,认为在外语学习中,语言环境仅构成外语学习动机的外在部分,外语学习动机由学生的内在情感和外部刺激两因素构成,从而揭示了语言环境并不必然引起语言习得,成功的外语学习取决于两部分:语言环境(可理解的语言输入)与学习者的学习情感态度因素。
Learning motivation plays a key role in the process of Second/Foreign Language Acquisition as well as in the general activities of other studies. In this essay, by tracing the historical theories instructing foreign language learning and teaching in the discipline of general and applied linguistics, the writer points out that language environment can merely constitute the outer part (incentive) of the motivation of language learning, which results from the combination of the students' outer factor of language environment stimulus (language-input) joined with inner condition factor and demonstrates the reason why language environment stimulus naturally cannot bring about Second Language Acquisition. The writer also states that the success of Second/foreign language Acquisition is based on two integral factors: language environment and the attitude of Second/Foreign Language Acquisition.
