方位词“上下”的汉英对比分析

A Comparison of Location Words “shang xia”in Chinese and Englis

语言中方位的表达方式体现了人们对空间关系的基本认识。对某一具体的空间关系,汉英语中的表达形式可能互有异同,这体现了两种语言的使用者在认识上的差异。本文对方位词“上下”在汉英语中表达法的某些典型异同及其原因进行比较分析。

Expressions in langnages reflect the people's understanding of space connections. It may be different in Chinese and English with regard to a specific space connection.For example,“shang xia”are a group of basic location words in Chinese.In the paper the author aims at comparing these words in Chinese and English.The comparison is mainly focused on three aspects:grammatical features,semantic connotation in the sentence and reference object.Meanwhile ,the paper tries to explain the source of the difference.
