中国需要创建自己的翻译学派

On the Necessity of Establishing Schools of Translation Studies in China

本文简要梳理了西方翻译理论的发展历史,指出一部西方翻译学史就是一部学派的传承与更替、聚合与交锋的历史。国外翻译学发展的启示表明:翻译学中创新理论的产生,与不同学派的酝酿、产生和发展有着密切的关联。文章分析了我国翻译学界学派缺位的主要原因,认为这种缺位现象不仅延缓了学科发展的步伐,而且带来诸多方面的局限性。基于以上论述,文章提出我国翻译学界应当尽快建立自己的学派以促进学术发展,培养具有可持续发展潜力的学术队伍,以提高我国翻译学界在国际学术领域的地位。

The clear picture of translation theories in the West shows that schools play a vital role in the theoretical development and that innovative theories come out of interaction between different schools. The absence of schools in our translation studies is the result of both exterior reasons and academic defects within the discipline itself. The author holds that this unfavourable situation retards the academic development and brings so many limitations. Therefore, it is necessary to establish our own schools of translation studies as soon as possible in order to stimulate academic development, cultivate academic teams with sustainable potentials and to enhance our place in the international field of translation studies.
