摘要
基于计算机软件的英语语言教学和自主学习模式是当前英语听说教学改革的一个热点问题。我们通过实验探讨了这一模式下的教学过程和结果。实验证明,这种模式有利于英语听说教学,符合英语教改的方向,在相当程度上可以弥补传统教学模式下听说教学的弱点;自主学习模式会遇到各种主、客观因素的干扰,需要强大的计算机管理功能来控制学习过程,并实现教师有针对性的、个性化的教学;学生认可基于计算机软件的英语语言教学,但并不认同它可以完全取代教师,情感因素在学习过程中的作用不可忽视。总之,当前的软件人工智能技术提供的教学课件仍然是基于行为主义的,与基于人本主义的自主学习模式从根本上有冲突。解决这一矛盾的办法是采用"上机学习+教师面授"的综合教学模式。
Software-based EFL combined with autonomous learning is a hot topic today. This article, based on an experimental audio-oral course lasting 4 months, studies an EFL mode based on software and learner autonomy. The result testifies that this mode promotes effectiveness in audio-oral teaching and learning in that it makes up for what is missing in the traditional mode, and is well suited to our current reform of EFL in China. Interference by a variety of factors in learner autonomy demands powerful computer software administration of the learning progress for successful individualized and well-targeted instruction on the part of the teacher. Software-based EFL is widely accepted by learners but is not thought to be a fully qualified substitution for the teacher, largely owing to the indispensable affective factors in the learning process. On all accounts, there is a fundamental conflict between the behaviorism-based courseware provided by current artificial intelligence technology and the autonomous learning mode based on humanism. One way to reconciliation is to adopt a blended solution of autonomous learning via courseware plus face-to-face instruction by teachers.
