左宗棠与开发董志原

Zuo Zongtang and the development of the Dongzhi Plain

董志原是左宗棠在甘肃最先收复和开发的地方。为了收复董志原,左宗棠打败了占据董志原为根据地达四年之久的号称"董志原十八营"的陕西回民起义军。为了开发董志原,左宗棠从政治、经济、文化、环境保护等方面,采取了一系列的措施,对董志原进行治理与建设,取得了明显的成效,为董志原经济与社会的恢复和发展奠定了基础,很值得总结与借鉴。

The Dongzhi Plain was the first place Zuo Zontang recaptured and developed in Gansu.In doing so,Zuo Zongtang defeated the Hui's insurrectionary army from Shanxi,known as'the 18—camps of the Dongzhi Plain,which had occupied the place for 4 years.Zuo Zongtang took a series of measures to ad- minister and develop the Dongzhi plain in terms of polity,economy,culture and environment.The meas- ures were effective and laid a solid foundation for the recovery and development of local economy,and are instructive even today.
