Review and Reflection of Studies of Farmer Workers in Cities

文章分析了研究城市农民工的原因、内容及其局限性 ,回顾和反思了二十年来城市农民工的研究情况。一般说来 ,对农民工群体的学术研究 ,长时间以来显示了人们意识到农民工面临的诸多问题 ,以及人们对他们的出于人道主义的关心。然而 ,研究存在局限性 ,缺乏多学科、多视角的综合性研究。而且 ,研究结果没能很好地用来解决实际问题。

The essay reviews the studies on farmer workers in cities in the past two decades, by examining causes of the studies, their contents and weaknesses. Generally speaking, the academic studies on the group of farmer workers, showing the problem awareness and humane concerns, have last for a long time and lots of disciplines have been involved. However, there are some weaknesses in them, such as lack of multi-discipline, multi-perspective comprehensive studies, and emic approach as well. Also, the research results of them cannot be sufficiently applied into practice.
