On Quality-oriented Education in English Language Teaching

本文主要论述英语学科素质教育的内容及英语能力训练的措施。笔者认为,英语学科素质教育的内容,主要是让学生通过听、说、读、写四方面的语言实践活动,提高英语语言素质,发展英语语言能力,达到最终的英语语言交际目的。使学生获得外语的交际能力是英语教学的最终目的。

This paper discusses mainly the content of quality-oriented education in English languageteaching and the training measures for English language ability.The writer holds that the content of quality-oriented education in English language teaching is mainly to enhance the students' English language quality anddevelop their English language ability through language practicing activities like listening,speaking,readingand writing,so as to attain the ultimate goal of communication in English.The ultimate goal of English teach-ing is to make the students obtain communicative ability in a foreign language.
