Would” is important in the subjunctive mood in English .This article analyses two uses of “would” in the subjunctive mood,viz.the anxiliary verb and the modal verb.The practical use of it in the subjunctive and the ways to distinguish its role in the subjunctive mood from that in the declarative are also studied.
