摘要
LASER-DIODE (LD) pumped solid-state lasers have a variety of applications in military, industry, medical treatment and scientific researches due to their high stability, compactness, high efficiency and long lifetime, and become one of the hot points in the laser field. In this field, Nd: YVO<sub>4</sub> laser has been commercialized. Nd:GdVO<sub>4</sub> crystal has a big absorption coefficient, high thermal conductivity, and excellent laser properties. Nd: Gd<sub>0.5</sub>La<sub>0.5</sub>VO<sub>4</sub> crystal formed by La<sup>3+</sup> ions replacing some Gd<sup>3+</sup> ions in Nd:GdVO<sub>4</sub> has larger FWHM (full width at half maximum) than Nd: GdVO<sub>4</sub> crystal. To combine the merits of Nd : GdVO<sub>4</sub> and Nd : Gd<sub>0.5</sub> La<sub>0.5</sub> VO<sub>4</sub>, we grow the crystal doped with 20% La (Nd: Gd<sub>0.8La<sub>0.2</sub>VO<sub>4</sub></sub>, and study its properties. Now we introduce the laser and spectroscopic properties of the crystal in brief.
