Liu Tianhua,an Outstanding National Musician in Chinese Modern History

在很多学术论文和教科书中谈论到刘天华先生时,将其定位为"平民音乐家",有的学术论述一会儿说其是"平民音乐大师",一会儿说其是"民族音乐家"等,而这两个词的含义对于刘天华先生音乐功绩的评价,是存在着本质意义上的差别的。从刘天华先生的音乐美学思想、音乐创作以及中国民族音乐自身特点的三个方面可以说明,刘天华先生是中国民族音乐的杰出代表。

In many academic thesises and textbooks, Liu Tianhua has been mentioned as a ＂civilian musician＂. Some thesises here referred him to a ＂civilian musical master＂, there to a ＂national musician＂. There is an essential difference betweer the meanings of these two words in fact. Liu Tianhua＇s musical consummation can be illustrated with his musical aesthetics, musical works and characteristics of the Chinese national music itself. Liu Tianhua was an outsdanding exponent of Chinese national music.
