摘要 Self propagating High temperature Synthesis (SHS)is an advanced technological method of making materials in recent years. In a broad sense, any chemical reaction process which can release heat energy and also can form substances with practical value at the same time is called SHS. It is very significant to make refractory by using SHS, and therefore, SHS refractory has a widespread applied prospect. The principle and the effect factor of making refractory by SHS has been introduced in this paper.
