Beijing Cordinate Medical College was the best known college in western medicine in modern China. Following the the example of the most advanced Johns Hopkins Medical College, it aimed at training highly skilled medical personnege, for which it developed a whole set of efficient teaching system and teaching methods with characteristics of its own. Therfore it achieved remarkable results . Its establishment and its achievements played an important role in promoting the exchange of the Chinese and foreign cultures .It also gives us some idea on how to carry out reform in high education.
