Abstract The note is a kind of the credit currency used by folk at the period of Qian Long, Qing Dynasty. It was issued by the institution that was not the government. It came into being with developing of economy and commercial currency. It was used as standard money. Shanxi Province is one of the main birthplaces of the folk note from the respect of excavation.
