从我国科技的走向、科技期刊编辑劳动的实质，以及科技期刊自身所具有的特殊性的角度，对科技期刊编辑学者化这一问题作了深入探讨，认为科技期刊编辑学者化是提高科技期刊学术质量的重要保证指出科技期刊编辑在编辑化的同时要力求学者化。

In view of the advancement in science and technology,the characteristics of the editorsworking for periodicals of science and technology, and the speculiarity of the periodicals,this paper discusses why the editors should be learned men. Only when they are scholarly can the academic quality of the periodicals be garanteed. It is pointed out in thepaper that an editor in such periodicals should be a learned man as well as an editor,and this is quite characteristic of an editor of periodicals of science and technology.
