Theoretical researches on areal economy in relation to Fujian-Guangdong-Jiangxi border-area economic region

区域经济理论的研究不应忽视闽粤赣边经济区；区域经济合作的本质是产业合作，闽粤赣边经济区应打破行政区划的局限性，划分为三大层次区域进行产业分工，同时大力发展劳动密集型产业，以食品、纺织、服装、机械、电子、石化五大产业为支柱产业重点发展。

This paper is of opinion that Fujian- Cuangdong-Jiangxi border area as an economic region should not be neglected in our theoretical researches on areal economy, and that areal economic coopelation is, in essence, industrial cooperation. The paper po on to point out that Fujian-GuangdongJiangxi border-area economic region shauld break away from the original borderlines in between and reorganize into three main subzones characterized by division of labor in industrial production so as to developlabor-intensive types of industries, with stress on five such key industries as foodstuff, textile and garment, machinery, electronics and petrochemical industries.
