The present paper covers the synthesis of 2 Ethylhexyl acrylate catalyzed by a heteropoly acid. The orthogonal experiments and repeated experiments showed that 12 tungstophosphoric acid exhibited the best catalytic activity. The conversion rate and selectivity are close to 100%. The optimum conditions of the reaction with 12 tungstophosphoric acid as the catalyst are as follows:The ratio of alcohol to acid is 1.05∶1, the quantity of the catalyst used is 1%( W t%), reaction time is 2 h, the reaction temperature is 117 ℃~140 ℃ (Toluene is water carrying agent), and the quantity of the inhibitor is 0.15%( W t%).The activity of the catalyst having been used for 5 times is unchanged.
