Let Mm be a compact submanifold isometrically immersed in the product of spheres Sn1 × Sn2 ×……× Snk. By introducing a selfadjoint linear operator QA associated with the shape operator of M, we show that appmpriate assumption on QA imPlies that there is no stable integra p-current in M and the homoogy poup Hp (M, Z) = 0.
