摘要
o accelerate the deployment of ATM technology and BISDN, it is essential to introduce ATM technology into the traditional telephone network. Generally, there are two strategies on introducing this technology into narrowband network: One is to carry the narrowband service traffic by using a new ATM overlaying network; the other is to replace the components of existing network with the broadband components. However, the method of replacement can be efficiently employed to realize the migration from narrowband network towards broadband network due to its simplicity and less initial investment. In this paper, a telephone switch with ATM switch fabric, called SPCA, are presented. Then the key technical issues solved by SPCA are discussed, and the prospects of SPCA are exhibited.
