摘要
IN this decade, great attention has been paid to PCl(b<sub>1</sub>∑<sup>+</sup>) because of its potential importance in chemical laser. Coxon et al. studied the reaction of Ar(<sup>3</sup>P<sub>o</sub>,2) with PCl<sub>3</sub> and observed two band systems of PCl(A<sub>3</sub>Ⅱ→X<sup>3</sup>∑<sup>-</sup>) and (b<sup>1</sup>∑<sup>+</sup>→X<sup>3</sup>∑<sup>-</sup>). Beielefeld et al. and Setser et al. measured the radiative lifetime of PCl(b<sup>1</sup>∑<sup>+</sup>) and its quenching rate constants for some small molecule quenchers.
