科学与玄学的论争是我国二三十年代思想界的一场重要论争，胡适是这一论争中科学派的主要人物之一。本文围绕胡适与这场论争的前后联系，对论争的思想前奏、论争的实质与科学人生观的确立、论争对尔后思想界的深刻影响等作了较为系统的分析论述。

The contention between science and metaphysics is among the important ideological struggles during the twentieth and thirtieth of this century in which Hu Shi is one of the important repre-sentatives of the school of science.This paper makes a comparatively systematic analysis of Hu Shi'sconnection with the Contention in such aspects as the ideological prelude of the Contention,the essence of the Contention ad the establishment of scientific life outlook,the profound influence of the Contentionupon the ideological circles thereafter.
