Termlology on the Tibetan Character Terms Used Specially for Computer

藏文是拼音文字，它包含30个基字，5个反体字及4个无音符号。藏文构词的横向拼写与纵向多重拼写性，形成平面文字。英文是拼音文字，却是线性方式。汉字是平面方式，却是拼型文字。因此，计算机在处理藏文文字时，既不能按英文方式进行，也不能按汉字方式进行。笔者长期从事计算机藏文系统的研制工作，在进行藏文字符集编码、藏文字型设计、藏文键盘布局的研究中，总结出一套计算机专用藏文文字术语，为采用藏文组合用编码字符集方式解决藏文字符开放性．作了理论准备。

Tibetan is an alphabetical writing.it includes 30 basic characters, 5 letters written in reverse direction and 4 vowel symbols.Tibetan words can be spelled sideways; it can also be written vertically by repeated layers, forming plane characters. English is an alphabetical writing, too; but it is in linear way. Chinese is in plane way;but it is a pictographic writing. Thus, in processing Tibetan characters by using computer, neither English way nor Chinese way can be used. The author has studied in the field 0f Tibetan system used specially for computers for a long time. In the coding of Tibetan character set, in the design of Tibetan character type and in the arrangement of Tibetan keyboard, a set of Tibetan Character terms used specially for computers has been summarized. It can be a theoretical preparation for solving the problem of opening of Tibetan characters by using combining coded character set.
