经过10万铁路大军历时7年的艰苦奋战,一条蜿蜒于广西、贵州、云南三省区深山峡谷,具有90年代先进水平的电气化大通道——南昆铁路,于1997年11月30日全线开通营运。12月2日下午3时,贵州省兴义市火车站人潮涌动,彩旗飘扬,鼓乐喧天,国家重点建设工程南昆铁路全线开通营运庆祝大会在这里举行。
The electrified Nanning-Kunming Railway running through the deep mountains and valleys of Guangxi Region,Guizhou and Yunnan provinces was put into full operation on Nov.30,1997 after 7 years' arduous work by a large contingent of railway builders. The railway will achieve its short-term annual carrying capacity of 10 million tons that will be increased to 30 million tons for its long-term annual capacity.More than 20 million people of various ethnic groups along the railway will directly benefit from it.So it is called“railway of poverty-alleviation,railway of hope and railway of happiness”.
