把监狱办成教育人改造人的特殊学校

TURN A PRISON INTO A SPECIAL SCHOOL

监狱是国家刑罚执行机关,是政法战线的重要组成部分,担负着惩罚和改造罪犯,维护社会稳定的重要职能。在改革开放皿的今日中国,监狱是如何发挥其作用的呢?记者为此采访了四川省监狱管理局局长沈前贵和政治部主任李光才,受到他们热情的接待。

Since the reform and opening-up drive,Sichuan prison organs,persisting in the guiding principle of“combining punishment with remoulding for the purpose of remoulding prisoners”have supervised criminals according to law and in a civilized and scientific mode,organized them to take part in cultural and technical studies as well as in productive labor,embodying the principle of socialist humanitarianism in all respects.They turned a prison into a special school for educating and remoulding prisoners so as to make contribution to the maintenance of social security and the guarantee of the smooth implementation of reform and opening- up drive and that of economic construction.
