Abstract The auther has collected two speciments of M.petersi in Shanghai recently, but it differs from the description of M. petersi in<A Revised Checklist With Distribution Maps of the Turtles of the World>by J.B.lverson and <Turtles of the World>by C.H.Ernst and R.W.Barbour on the amount of vertebral scutes. It has an addition smaller scute between 4th and 5th, very similar to that in Notochelys. The auther wants to get more speciments to have a developmental study and give a complete description on it.
