There are a lot of mineral solid inclusions in pyrite in Baiyinchang Cu-polymetal ore field,and these inclusions were not studied in the past. this paper reports our research results for these inclusions.The size of solid inclusions is small,most of them are in the range of n μm to ten μmBased on the numbers of the minerals in an inclusion,solid inclusions can be devided into two types:one for single-phase type and the otlor for polyphase type. Chalcopyrite, pyrrhotite,magnetite, sphalerite, galena, etc. can make up singlephase inclusion separatively or polyphase inclusions by their assemblages. There are also some nonmetallic minerals such as quartz,chorite, muscovite, barite etc. occurred as solid inclusions. There are two types of ore formations in this ore field: one for Zheyaoshan type with the main ore mineralsof pyrite asnd chalcopyrite in Zheyaoshan Type deposit,and the other for Xiaotieshan type with the main ore minerals of pyrite, sphalerite, galena, chalcopyrite, tennanite etc. in Xiaotieshan Type deposit.Minerals of the solid inclusions in pyrite of these two formations are obviously different. The minerals in solid inclusions in pyrite of Zheyaoshan formation mainly are chalcopyrite, magnetite, pyrrhotite, sphalerite, muscorvite, chlorite and AS-Ph-Bi, Ph-Bi-Se-Te sulfosalts etc.;and that of Xiaotieshan for mation are sphalerite, galena, chalcopyrite, tennanite and magnetite, barite etc. This differences reveals that the two types of the deposits in Baiyinchang ore field might be formed by two different hydrothermal solution systems.
