A novel β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) derivative (2) boring a single 8-quinolyl moiety hasben Synthesized by a convenient method in 41.4% yield. and the compound was chacterized by1H-NMR. FT-IR supra-and elemental analysis, etc. The sphotometric titrations have beenperformed in buffered aqueous solution (pH=7.20) to give the complex stability constants (K) andGibbs free energy changes (-ΔG°) for the 1∶1 inclusion complexation of soing amino acids guestmolecules with host compound (2) and money6-anilino)-β-cyclodextrin (1 )
