葱花蜜腺位于子房内三个心皮不完全愈合处的腔隙周围的表面，属于隔膜蜜腺．蜜汁充满腔道后溢出，流经子房表面的纵沟积聚在子房基部．花蜜腺由分泌表皮细胞和4～7层产蜜组织细胞构成．表皮细胞角质层不明显，外壁呈乳头状突起，产蜜组织内无维管束．花蜜腺来源于子房隔膜的表层细胞，在发育过程中产蜜组织细胞内液泡和蛋白质发生规律性变化．无淀粉粒积累．蜜汁通过分泌表皮细胞壁泌出．

Floral nectaries of Allium fistulosum are located in the septa of the ovary. In each septum of the ovary there is a slit resulting from incomplete fusion of carpels. These slits are surrounded by nectariferious tissue and open at the surface of the ovary. The.nectar are overflowed to outside of ovary and acumulated between the bases of the superior ovary and filaments. The septal nctaries consist of a layer of epidermis cells and four to seven layers of nectariferious tissue. Vascular bundle is absent in nectariforious tissue. The cuticle covering the epidermal cell is very thin and top of epidermal cell appear in papillae.The septal nectaries originate from the surface cells of the septa of the ovary.During the development of nectaries and exudation of nectar, the protein and vacuole in the nectariferious tissue cells are found to change regularly. Starch grains are absent in the nectariferious tissue cells. The nectar is exuded out of nectaries via the wall of the epidermal cells.
