Benzodiazepines (BZs) are anxiolytic drugs which are commonly used in clinics; however, their mechanism of actions is still unclear. Since the late 1970s, receptors for benzodiazepine (BZ-R) were discovered in rat brain and it was found that the action strength of BZs in the central nervous system (CNS) is related to the affinity of BZ-R.
