人力资源人口密度大。密度分布特点是东部密集,西部稀疏。全省23个主要城市集中全省总人口的60％,其中以成都、重庆两市最高。人口密集区经济基础条件好,消费水平相对较高。劳动力素质较高,人口年龄构成轻。至1995年全省剩余劳力有1600万人,到2000年将达到3000万人以上。
Labour reource The east of Sichuan is densely populated with comparatively younger and better-educated people. By the year of 1995, Sichuan shall have a surplus labour force of 16 million persons which will increase to 30 million at the end of this century. Water resources The annual total water resources of Sichuan amount to as much as 348 million m^3. with a river flow of 313.1 billion m^3 each year. Its total reserve of water power adds up to 150 million kw of which 91.67 million kw are developable. Its annual hydraulic generated output is 515.3 billion kw/h, which makes up 26.8% of China's total. The annual discharge of Sichuan's 1400 rivers reaches 313. billion m^3. Mineral resources Sichuan is rich in mineral resources. Among the 123 discovered varieties, 24 with their reserve on the list of China's top 3 include iron, titanium, vanadium, mercury, white mica, asbestos, etc. Panzhihua and Xichang combine to form China's biggest base of iron, vanadium and titanium. Energy resources Sichuan is China's biggest reservoir of natural gas with a prospective reserve of 7.22 billion m^3 and a prospected reserve of 3101.8 billion m^3 The fauna and flora resources Sichuan has flora resource of 4000 varieties of which 3200 belong to medicinal herbs and 100 are rare special local products. Tongjiang's tremella, Hanyuan's Chineses prickly ash, Hejiang's litchi and Luzhou's longan are well-known all over China. In addition, Sichuan is China's biggest producer of cocoons, tung oil and citrus, the second biggest of raw lacquer, the third biggest of Chinese tallow seeds and the fourth biggest of tea. Sichuan is also known for its rich fauna resource, its 1100 vertebral animals accounts for 40% of China's total. Sichuan has as much as 55 rare animals.
