MICROSTRUCTURE AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF (Nb,Ti)C-Ni COMPOSITE

摘要 In this paper, (Nb,Ti)C-Ni composites are inves-tigated via tivo kinds of sintering methods: (a) sintering in ar-gon and (6) pre-sintering in vacuum and hot isostatic pressing in argon. The results show that the later is better,and that mi-cros true tu re and mechanical properties of (Nb,Ti)C-Ni com-posites are much better than that of TiC0.78-Ni cermets. Observa-tions of the fracture path indicate that the improved toughness and strength are attibuted to crack deflection by (Nb,Ti)C par-ticles.
