Abstract This is the author' s ieminiscences. With literary technique of writing, he tells a story' heexprienced scords of years ago. In the early days of the 1950s, he came across a youngwoman correspondent in Zhangye in the middle section of the Silk Road.With youthful vigourand the same ideal and interest they established sincere friendship between themselves. Owing tothe political movements during the middle and later periods of the 1950s, they found themselvesin a tight corner and had to part on a night in Xi'an, the starting point of the SilkRoad. They parted forever!
