Abstract The coinage of the Qi State during Warring States was the development above the coinage culture of Yi Nationality,and the shell was still used as money at the early of establishing Qi State.So the first casting time of the knife coin of Qi should be at period of the seeking hegemony by Duke Huan Gong of Qi.The knife coin of Qi State was devided into two systems including front and behind.The Yi Hua round coin should be cast after King Xiang Wang of Qi restored the Qi State.The“Bo Shan”knife coin and“Yan”knife coin of Qi can't be classified into the coinage of Qi State.
