The functing and knitting principle of the stitch presser device for flat knitting machine in loop-forming-cycle are discussed in the paper. Several examples are given by the author to expound the applications and features of the stitch presser in knitting technology. The results of the analysis and comparison between the stitch presser flat knitting machine and traditional one indicate that the product quality of the former is superior to the latter and the former has a greater potentiality for fashion garment pieces and new style developments in knitwear, which brings about more profits.
