Ⅰ. INTRODUCTIONMeanders are a common river channel pattern. It is generally accepted that comparatively low sediment concentration, especially when bed material load is considered, is one of the fundamental conditions for the formation of meanders. With an increased sediment concentration, the river channel pattern will be transformed from a meandering one to a braided one.
