数学是人类理解自然、征服自然的有力武器,是科学研究中的有力工具,是科学技术发展的基础。它是研究客观物质世界中的空间形式和数量关系的科学。数学方法是进行科学抽象的一种思维方法,也就是撇开客观对象的其它一切特性,只抽取各种量、量之间的关系和量的变化等,在抽象的纯碎形态上进行推导和演算,去揭示客观世界的量的规定性的方法,它是理论思维和对事物进行逻辑分析的一种重要形式。在科学研究中,必须使教学形式和具体的客观现实内容相结合。这是科学研究中运用数学方法的基本原则。但是,数学方法与其他自然科学是有其自身特点的,决不能为其他科学方法所代替。
