摘要
Under five stipulations, the detection process of the amount of the information on azimuthand distance with the synthetic aperture radar (SAR) is equivalent to the imaging processof an optical system. The information carrier is Fresnel prolate spheroidal wave function(FPSWF) Φ<sub>n</sub>(c, x’<sub>1</sub>, y’<sub>1</sub>), and its imaging equation is the eigen integral equation, which is satis-fied by FPSWF. Based on the study of eigen values λ<sub>n</sub>(c<sub>s</sub>) and λ<sub>n</sub>(c<sub>t</sub>) the expressions ofthe amount of optical information transfer red by synthetic aperture radar from the objectspace to the image space is obtained.
