3COM以太网和DECnet以太网互连初探

A Preliminary Study to 3COM Ethernet and DECnet Ethernet Interconnection

本文根据实际应用的需要, 从实用的角度出发,对DECnet以太网协议进行了剖析,给出了DECnet以太网的报文格式,对3COM以太网和DECnet以太网的互连进行了探讨,并初步实现了从PC机上索取VAX机上的文件、向VAX机发送文件、列目录、共享打印机服务、模拟终端服务等五个功能。

To meet the needs of the interconnection between 3COM Ethernet andDECnet Ethernet, they are briefly introduced in this paper. The direct-interconnection scheme is chosen. And detailed packet format and controlsequence of DECnet Ethernet packets are given based on the full analysis on its packet by means of monitoring. With the results mentionedabove, the functions such as sending-file, asking-file, sharing printer, DIRand Emulation Terminal between two working stations on the interconne-cted netwovk are realized.
