This PaPer is a fairly Systemetical study of the origins of Place names in Taiwan Province. On the basis of full analysis and Proof, the the two authors present their own idea on the origin of the name 'Taiwan' . The main ci ties, seaports,scenic spots,historical sites and natural Place names in Taiwan Province are specifically introduced. While introducing the origins of Place names,the natural aspe cts and economic status of the Places are alto stated. This Paper helps readers to understand the origins of place names in Taiwan as well as its geographical situation.
