摘要 在现行的各种国内外“无机化学”教材中,对周期系P区各主族元素由上而下产生“惰性电子对效应”的原因以及它在“无机化学”中的应用未作仔细阐述,本文提出个人的见解作了进一步的讨论。可供无机化学教学参考。 Among P—block elements with Various oxidation states, the general trend for the lower positive oxidation states of the heavier elements to become relatively stable was studied and explained with the 'Inert Electronic pair Effect' presented by Sidgwiek and Sanderson. The reasons causing the 'Inert Electronic pair Effect' of the elements of the sixth period in the periodic table were discussed in the following three aspecte: The different penetration effcot of various orbits, the effect of the different size of the atomic radii to the bonding strength and the character of the radial distribution fuction of the s orbit. The application of the theory in determining the relative stability of the various oxidation states of the elements in the same group. The properties of the chemical bonds and the oxidation and reduction properties of the compounds were also discussed in this paper.
